“They’re making threats!” She cried. You wouldn’t believe the things they will say to you when you get behind on property taxes and mortgage payments. I have heard some pretty horrible things over the years but it still made me sad to hear the things they were saying to Phyllis. But she didn’t know how to stop forclosure.
For the sake of this article, let’s call her “Phyllis.” Phyllis is a woman who owned a home. Like most, she would do anything for her family. She let her son live in this house she owned. He had a job and paid the mortgage. All was fine, until it wasn’t. As life would have it, he lost his job and was unable to pay the mortgage. Payments started to pile up and taxes needed collecting.
Through no fault of their own, they found themselves in some serious hot water. She was getting very anxious about the back taxes. Luckily, she called me and there was still enough time to get her out of this mess. Through the purchase of her home, I was able to rectify the tax situation, put a little bit of money in her pocket and help her and her son get this monkey off of their backs. They were more than relieved to have this situation dealt with so they could move on with their lives.
As I watch this Covid-19 situation unfold, it grieves my heart to hear of the families that are struggling. If we are honest, some were struggling before this all started and are finding themselves in a similar situation as Phyllis.
